Wow! What a great bespoke package you put together for me. Thanks. I
really appreciated the way in which we discussed my interests and how
your suggestions as to what I should do resulted in the tailor-made
holiday of a lifetime. The best four weeks that I have ever spent
overseas.

Comments: Gerardo and I would like to express our gratitude for
the arrangements you made for our trip to Mozambique.
Everything went
very well from the outset. Andrew and Christopher guided us magnificently
through the bumpy roads of Mozambique until our final destination at
Zongoene Lodge. Christopher is not only a very skilful driver but also
possesses great knowledge of the different animal species to be seen on the
way. Andrew was a top-notch navigator, who in addition possesses astounding
language skills – including what seemed to be a working knowledge of Shangaan!
Machampane deserves
a paragraph to itself. It was quite an eye-opener to us to find such a
well-managed lodge in literally the middle of nowhere. Everybody on the
staff there was both friendly and extremely professional. The accommodation
and the food were more than adequate and the game walk was very thrilling
indeed.
But it was
Zongoene Lodge that beat the lot. Neither Gerardo nor I had ever in our
lives been to such a remote place, and do not think that many such places
do exist in today’s globalised world. As you know, to access the facility
one must turn off from the main tarred road and embark on a rather tortuous
one hour’s drive along on a poorly maintained dirt road. But that is far
from being the only feature that makes Zongoene Lodge a secluded outpost.
For us, the most intriguing feature of the facility was its relationship
with its adjacent marine environment. In the last few years disastrous
floods have cut off the Lodge from the sea, which is now only accessible
through a thin strip of sand that surfaces only during low tide. It is true
that you have to tread a considerable stretch before you can dip your feet
in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean, but the reward that awaits you
is a beach so deserted that you sometimes wonder whether there really are
other people on earth apart from yourself – an enormously unusual
experience for urbanites like us!
And, amazingly, in this remote and secluded environment, Nathalie
and her efficient team manage to offer their guests impeccable world-class
service.
Before we set off
we were clear that we wanted to become acquainted with a little bit of
Mozambique, but it was thanks to you that the experience we gained was one
that Gerardo and I are not likely to forget.
Thank you again,
Alejandro
